A caterpillar was never meant to stay a caterpillar. By crawling into its version of a tomb (a cocoon) and dying to its former life, a caterpillar can be completely transformed into a different creature altogether, a spectacular butterfly. This metamorphosis brings about a totally different lifestyle for the once earth bound caterpillar. With new capacities of flight, the butterfly gets to enjoy a far superior realm of reality than in its former life as a weed eating worm with legs.

You can experience metamorphosis as well. You were never meant to just be confined to the natural realm as a sin-imprisoned, self-worshipping, self-reliant human. You can be transformed into another species, a son or daughter of your heavenly Father! The way change occurs is not by trying to be different with the power of your soul (mind, will, and emotions). You cannot save yourself, only God’s mercy and grace can deliver you. Christ bore on Himself the just penalty for your sin. He shed His blood, hung on the cross, and died your death, so you could be free from sin, sickness, Satan, and eternal death. It is by asking Christ to live inside your heart and submitting to Him as the Lord of your life that you experience His eternal life.

When Christ comes into your spirit (heart), He literally changes your nature and gives you new amazing capacities through His Holy Spirit. Once you have been indwelt with Christ and you trust and obey Him as your King, you get transferred from the kingdom ruled by Satan into the kingdom of God. This will be the beginning of your passionate love relationship with your Father through Christ by the Holy Spirit.

In the kingdom of heaven, you have access to the supernatural help of God Himself. You begin to take on His character like love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, and self-control. Through His Word and His Spirit, you gain access to wisdom, truth, knowledge, and understanding. You can even begin to hear your Father’s voice. By the power of the Holy Spirit, you can advance the kingdom of God by making disciples of Christ, healing the sick (physical, mental, and emotional), casting out demons, performing miracles, and doing simple acts of compassion and service.
