Rock Solid Urban Impact
Transforming our cities... one life at a time
Tim & a little boy

Rock Solid Urban Impact is a not-for-profit 501(C)(3) corporation established to help urban youth learn life and work skills through training, mentoring, and hands on experiences. We are not a "religious" organization. We embrace Judeo-Christian principles and values, believing that such positive foundations are vital for youth to live successful and whole lives. Urban youth seldom have healthy adult role models, personal encouragement and training from skilled mentors, or vital exposure to business networking and opportunities. Rock Solid Urban Impact builds a bridge between disadvantaged urban youth and those who can help them grow and succeed in life and work.

We are renovating a building which will become an integral part of the ROCK Training Center, a hub for both ROCK Solid Urban Impact and the World Outreach Kingdom Community.  This facility includes a gym, 7 classrooms, a cafeteria, and offices.  Can you imagine what God can do with such a Center... right here in the urban core?!

Work on the building has begun.  In July a missions team removed all the old flooring and cleared out the debris.  In August the plumbers began work.  (When we first turned on the water, leaks were everywhere!)  Next we need to replace windows, roof, and floors.

What will happen at the center?

Training in Job and Work Skills: Youth and adults gain character and confidence in the workplace as they learn job skills. They will learn to develop resumes, to fill out job applications, to interview for jobs, and how to conduct themselves at work (including dressing for success).  Classes in specific skills will be available, including extensive computer training.

Networking:  We will connect people from the inner city with those who can provide friendship, support, mentoring, and even job opportunities. Rock Solid Urban Impact will build relational bridges between those from various socio-economic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds, so that everyone's lives can be mutually benefited and enriched.

Supervised Recreation: The Center will be open after school and on weekends to provide safe and supervised recreational opportunities. The gym will be utilized for special events and programs such as basketball tournaments, slam dunk contests, self-defense courses, and fitness classes.

Compassion and Social Services:  The cafeteria will be used to distribute food for the hungry and to feed groups of volunteers who travel here to invest their lives in the inner-city.

Training in Life Skills: Important life skills for people of all ages include: managing time and money, maintaining positive relationships, resolving conflicts, study skills, work ethics, respecting authority and the law, living free from drug and alcohol addiction, and setting and reaching goals.

Rock Solid Urban Impact is committed to serve people from all ethnic, racial, cultural, or socioeconomic backgrounds. No one will be discriminated against or be refused service based on religious preference, creed or personal life style.
